For example, an individual starts up a photography business and creates a GoFundMe profile to raise enough money for a down payment on a small plane to fulfill his dream of traveling the world. Donations sent to his GoFundMe account will not go towards his photography business; they will go towards the down payment for the plane to fulfill his dream. These donations should fall under the Gift Tax.
Just like the photographer, The Coming Messiah is only using his business to accomplish his Goal of entering Heaven. The Coming Messiah is accepting donations just so he can raise the funds needed to accomplish his Goal faster. The donations received will not go towards The Coming Messiah's business; they will go towards The Coming Messiah's Goal as a man/individual.
The Coming Messiah is collecting financial contributions through CashApp. However, the Gift Tax is the legal standard for individuals that are accepting donations on GoFundMe.
