EX 20:16 Do Not Bear False Witness Law
Scripture
“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Speaker: YHWH | Bible Version: TCMV
Law
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Judgement
If the witness is a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother, then you shall do to him as he had thought to do to his brother.
Biblical Example
The men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had instructed them in the letters which she had written and sent to them. 12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. 13 The two men, the wicked fellows, came in and sat before him. The wicked fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones. 14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned and is dead.”
1 Kings 21:11-14 (WEB)
This biblical example is referring to King Ahab's reign over Israel. King Ahab wanted Naboth's vineyard; however Naboth did not want to sell or trade it because it was his family's inheritance. So King Ahab's wife, Jezebel, conspired against Naboth and had him put to death upon false charges. YHWH then cursed Jezebel with a gruesome death; and King Ahab's sons and all who were close to him were slaughtered according to the curse YHWH put on them through his prophet Elijah. King Ahab and his wife Jezebel did much evil in the eyes of YHWH.
