This is a biblical example of the Do Not Have Sexual Relations with Daughter-in-Law or Son-in-Law Law being disobeyed.
When she was brought out, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, “I am with child by the man who owns these.” She also said, “Please discern whose these are—the signet, and the cords, and the staff.”
26 Judah acknowledged them, and said, “She is more righteous than I, because I didn’t give her to Shelah, my son.”
He knew her again no more.
This biblical example is referring to Judah and his daughter-in-law, Tamar. Tamar was married to Judah's firstborn son, Er. Er was wicked, so YHWH killed him. Judah told Tamar to wait until his younger son Shelah grows up, and he will complete the brotherly duty. However, after Shelah grow up, Judah did not give Tamar to him. So, Tamar disguised herself as a prostitute and had sex with Judah.
YHWH did not institute the Book of The Law yet during this time, but prostitution was shunned upon and having sex with a widowed daughter-in-law was not common practice.
This is a present day example of the Do Not Have Sexual Relations with Daughter-in-Law or Son-in-Law Law being followed.
