This biblical example is referring to Herod, Herodias and John the Baptist. During this time, Rome ruled over Israel and Rome appointed Herod as ruler over Judaea. Herod was married to his brother's wife, Herodias; and John the Baptist spoke out against the sinful act. John's criticism led to Herodias having him beheaded.
